Names of the 20 Cross River State Lawmakers sacked by the court for defecting to APC

The Federal High court sitting in Abuja sacked 18 members of the Cross River State House of Assembly and 2 members of the state House of Representatives Monday.

The court also sacked Imo state Lawmakers who defected from People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC).

In a judgement delivered by justice Taiwo Taiwo stated that the lawmakers must vacate their seats after abandoning the party that brought them to power.

Their sack followed a suit marked FHC/ABJ/SC/975/2021 which was filed by the PDP.

Their names are:

6. Okon E. Ephraim

16. Ogbor Ogbor Udop 

17. Sunday U. Achunekan

Breaking News: A 45,000 litre-tanker exploded in Lekki and killed four people

  On Sunday, the 27th day of March, 2022, a 45,000 litre-tanker fully laden with petrol exploded after ramming into a heavy-duty vehicle conveying cement inward Lekki. Four people died in the accident according to an official of the Lagos Fire Service. The accident occurred at the Kaiyetoro end of Lekki-Epe Expressway by Eleko Bus Stop, Ibeju Lekki Lagos. Adeseye Margaret, the Director, of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, said the accident happened at about 16:35 hours Sunday. Magaret added that; “The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Epe Station, on arrival at the scene discovered that both vehicles had head collision as the tanker traveled in opposite directions to Lekki and trailer from Epe. “The crew swiftly doused the raging fire from the accidental spillage of contents from the tanker and recovered four bodies suspected dead from both vehicles. “Three of the bodies were recovered from the tanker and one from the trailer.
